Seven [f] Protocol
CanBIM has established the Seven [f] Protocol as the basis for its governance.
- Foster opportunities and collegiality for interdependency between all disciplines associated with the design, construction and management of all buildings in Canada to adopt Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Focus Pan-Canadian efforts to increase interoperability utilizing BIM.
- Familiarize all levels of government in Canada and all private sector groups involved with design, construction and management of buildings with Pan-Canadian and global efforts to implement BIM.
- Procure mechanisms and methodologies that share and disseminate BIM Information locally, regionally and nationally within Canada.
- Forge alliances with other BIM interest groups to maintain a strong Canadian BIM presence globally.
- Follow tested BIM modalities that benefit alldisciplines associated with the design, construction and management ofbuildings in Canada.
- Fashion and promote BIM based solutions that recognize the valuable building diversification in Canada.
To accompany the Seven [f] Protocol the CanBIM Board has also created methodology for its governance. The following diagram outlines the flow and direction of governance for the Council. The Council is bottom up to its Members and Top down to the Public/Industry.
