30. Sept. 15, 2011 - What could our industry look like and how do we get there? Anneliese Fris (Partner, Shelterbelt Architecture), Carol Belanger (Architect, City of Edmonton) Chad Musselwhite P.Eng, (Mechanical Lead, Williams Engineering) and Drew Teal P.Eng, (BIM Manager and Field Engineer, PCL Construction Management) discuss their ideas about where BIM will be in ten years.

29. Sept. 15, 2011 - Dan Neufeglise discusses how PCL Constructors Canada Inc. manages and executes the BIM process.

28. Sept 15, 2011 - Thomas Strong discusses the CanBIM Marketing Subcommittee activities to date. Website offerings such as the Member Forums, Case-studies and job postings. As well he talks about the Council's connectivity online through LinkedIn.

27. Sept. 15, 2011 - Ganesh Bala discusses CanBIM's ties to the education community and that the Council is very interested in building a relationship with this community. He states that they wish to identify the areas that are not being tackled and focus on getting initiatives in these areas as an important issue.

26. Sept 15, 2011 - Allan Partridge talks about the efforts of the BSA - Building Smart Alliance and how CanBIM can help with these efforts. Allan poses a question about one of these recent efforts; The Handover to Contractor Protocol - "how can we assure that the Building Information Model has fidelity and that it truly can be used over the entire span of an industry?". Allan provides an example to help address this question. Allan posits that we need to attach ourselves to the fastest moving chariot and commit the resources to this vehicle. Don't reinvent the wheel. CanBIM has a strong voice at the table of NBIMS 2.0 and the future of international and national standards. NBIMS is critical to the future.

25. Sept. 15, 2011 - Allan Partridge - discusses how the Technical Committee works - "members at work". The need to establish specific projects at CanBIM which are headed up by interests groups championed by one individual who can report back to the Council. Using the website to communicate the results of these projects. Allan looks to recruit members for the technical committee.

24. Sept. 15, 2011 - Allan Partridge discusses CanBIM's efforts to reach out to other organizations, such as; Emerging Alberta Centre for Excellence for BIM, Green Building Council, AEC United Kingdom, Building Smart Alliance.  Thomas Strong talks to CanBIM's relations to the NRC - National Research Council and interest to reach out to the Lean Construction Institute and Dan Neufeglise discusses relations with AGC - The Associated General Contractors of America.

23. Sept. 15, 2011 - The CanBIM Board members introduce themselves and how they assist with the Council. Absent Board Members are introduced by Thomas Strong, CanBIM Secretary.

22. Sept. 15, 2011 - Paul F. Loreto talks about the CanBIM Organizational structure and how the Council is governed.

21. Sept. 15, 2011 - Allan Partridge provides a brief overview of the Regional Sessions.

20. May 17, 2011 - CanBIM Regional Session - Toronto - Post Event Interviews and thoughts from attendees about coming out to our CanBIM event. Featured speakers from Feature Walters, EllisDon, Fanshawe College, PCL Construction, Earth Development, and CH2M Hill.

19. May 17, 2011 - Allan sums up the learning's of the Toronto Session - BIM requires
interchange, CanBIM Regional Session format is endorsed, Education panel
was very informative to the Board and have now make a linkage between
industry and Academia, BIM libraries to be created and platform driven
and made available through the CanBIM website portal in the future.

by presenting cases studies, involving students in the process of BIM
and by using real world examples and models for students to learn from.

17. May 17, 2011 Sam Rahman of George Brown College speaks about how Industry needs to put an effort into working with academia and giving the students of BIM
an opportunity to work with the industry.

16. May 17, 2011 - How are BIM industry and education linked. How can the two facets of the BIM world come together to help progress BIM. Ralph Lembcke talks about how the Education system interacts with industry.

15. May 17, 2011 - Discussing the uses and benefits of the CanBIM website, Board asks the industry to use the site as a portal.

14. May 17, 2011 - John Lusty - Bentley Systems talks about getting systems to work together through universal data file formats. Also he talks about not reinventing the wheel by looking what others have done with BIM in Canada.

13. May 17, 2011 - Julian Bowron and Thomas Strong discuss the value of
creating definitions early in the BIM process and how retaining the
information from the models will create benefits and value in the chain.

12. May 17, 2011 - Allan Partridge dispels the idea that CanBIM is in a
competitive race to control BIM in Canada, on the contrary CanBIM is
looking to bring to the table what it can to support the growth of BIM
and Collaboration amongst it's users.
