Krigh Bachmann, Chair

National Design Technology Resource & Research Specialist Technology, DIALOG

Over the years, I’ve developed a keen interest in leveraging new and innovative technologies to improve both the designs my team produce and the method by which they are created. Building on my background with experience on projects from high level strategic studies to on-site coordination, my current role as Manager of Design Technology combines my experience as a designer with my passion for technology and processes. Leading a team of specialists across our five office, we ensure that DIALOG have the foundations they need to build the best projects.

Tina Webb, Committee

Senior Structural Technologist - BIM Specialist, Herold Engineering Ltd.

Tina is a Senior Structural Technologist / BIM Specialist with Herold Engineering on Vancouver Island.  She is a highly accomplished, certified Technologist with over 16 years of structural buildings experience and 9 years of professional Building Information Modelling (BIM) experience. 

 

Tina is also an avid Autodesk Revit Structure user, promoter and member of Autodesk’s Expert Elite.  She is also the Chair of BIMbc Victoria Revit Users Group, Vice Chair of Women in Construction Nanaimo and sits on the Canadian BIM Council’s Executive Design committee placing her well in the community to share her skills and experience.  Tina is also the Community Representative for ASTTBC in Victoria, assisting and promoting BC’s Science Technicians and Technologists in the community.

 

Tina has presented on the topic of Revit Structure at Autodesk University and the Revit Technologies Conference.  She has been involved in teaching Revit Structure through workshops, user group sessions and formal instruction since 2006. Her experience and teaching capabilities make her a valuable resource for this very specialized software and a popular speaker and presenter nationwide on not only the software but also the process and methods of utilizing the software in the AEC industry.

Charles Fung

Technologist, GEC Architecture

Experienced Architectural Technologist with a demonstrated history of working in the architecture & planning industry. A perpetual learner that is skilled in BIM (Revit) and project planning. Strong arts and design professional graduated from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. 

Yiğit Karanfil

Design Technology Manager, HOK Architects

Yiğit Karanfil is the Design Technology Manager at HOK Architects. Yiğit has experience with implementation of multi-disciplinary BIM and technology for various health care, retail, mixed-use, transportation and industrial projects. He actively works with clients and project teams to determine requirements and build technology workflows that will help deliver projects successfully. Yiğit is also an active member of CanBIM community, he has been working with Designers Steering Committee since 2015, during which he has had several BIM-related articles published.

Amir Tangestani

BIM Manager, Kasian Architecture

Amir Tangestani, MASc, B.Arch., BIM Manager at Kasian Architecture oversees the firms BIM strategy and implementation. Amir holds Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Civil Engineering Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) and has been focused on BIM professionally and academically for the past decade and a half. His professional experience includes working on the both ends of the building industry: construction and design. This has given him holistic view of BIM implementation for projects he leads. He has worked collaboratively with many project teams on various institutional, commercial, industrial, and residential building projects across Canada and believes that successful BIM execution would not be possible without mutual contributions of all the parties involved in a project.

Saji Darali, M.Arch, CanBIM CP

Digital Practice Manager, Turner Fleischer Architects

Saji has a unique combination of expertise in BIM, design visualization, construction simulation, programming and IT, and is also a promoter for technology integration into the AECO industry. 

Laura-Lee Moran

National BIM Leader, Smith + Andersen

Laura-Lee has dedicated her entire career to the strategic development of BIM in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Industry. After graduating from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Architectural Science in 2005, Laura-Lee gained experience as a mechanical designer before stepping into broader corporate and industry roles as a BIM leader. After more than a decade completely dedicating herself to developing and implementing BIM standards, Laura-Lee is as passionate about data management as she is about the creativity and innovation intrinsic to managing multi-discipline models. Laura-Lee has served as a member of CanBIM for more than five years, sitting on the CanBIM Designers Committee for the past year and a half. Also an active member of the Toronto BIM Community (tBIMc), Laura-Lee has spoken at local and international events, guiding industry colleagues as they seek out effective methodologies to leverage new technologies. As an Autodesk certified professional in Revit MEP Mechanical, Revit MEP Electrical, and Revit Architecture, Laura-Lee combines practical project experience with big picture thinking, extending her unique passion for the growth and application of BIM technologies across Canada.

Bringing a solid academic foundation with enhanced cultural acumen and global experience; seeking a position where my talents and knowledge will enrich the establishment I am a part of while allowing professional growth.

Tony Atkins

Junior Technologist, BA Arch. Sci, HDR Architecture

Tony Atkins received his Bachelors of Architectural Science from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. While enrolled, he acted as the Chair for the School of Transportation, Construction & the Environment and led the Student Association’s Space Planning Committee. Prior to joining the Architecture industry, Tony developed valuable skills in leadership, project management, communications and client relations. He is currently based in Vancouver, Canada and works as a Junior Architectural Technologist for HDR|CEI.  Tony is an avid sustainability advocate, a proactive problem solver and a critical thinker.
