Yuri Bartzis, Committee Co-Chair

Virtual Design and Construction Manager, Pomerleau

Yuri Bartzis is the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Regional Manager at Pomerleau. Yuri has worked in the construction industry for 16 years, starting his career in residential construction where he gained valuable insight and skills by exploring various trades. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Ottawa, Yuri’s accumulated knowledge about the construction industry led him to become a Construction Coordinator. He worked on large design-build industrial projects across Canada. On these projects Yuri utilised BIM collaboration as a project management tool to improve planning, designing and construction of complex infrastructures. Over the next several years, he repeatedly applied BIM and virtual construction methodologies to several projects valued between $20M and $120M in both the Heavy Civil and Buildings
Departments as a Virtual Construction Manager leading a team of BIM professionals. Yuri’s current role as VDC Regional Manager is within Pomerleau’s Canadian Buildings Operations division. This role unites BIM planning and implementation for the Halifax, Toronto, Ottawa and Calgary offices.
