Andrea Lee is certified as a Specialist in Construction Law by the Law Society of Ontario. She is a partner of the leading and nationally recognized construction law firm of Glaholt LLP.
Andrea received a B. Arch from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Design, in 2002 and a LL.B. from Queen's University in 2005. She has practiced construction law exclusively since her call to the bar.
As an architectural intern, Andrea worked for the City of Toronto and architectural firms in Ontario and Hong Kong. As a lawyer, Andrea has experience acting on behalf of owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors on all scales of projects throughout Canada in various court proceedings or private arbitration. Andrea provides advice with respect to contracts on a wide range of project delivery methods and professional design agreements.
Andrea has published articles in the following newsletters and publications: Building Envelope Forum, Building Strategies, Architecture (RAIC), OBA Construction Law Section Nuts and Bolts, and the Construction Law Letter. Andrea authored the chapter “Architects and Engineers” in Halsbury’s Laws of Canada, Construction and the chapter “Architects and Engineers: Recent Developments” in Review of Construction Law: Recent Developments.
Andrea speaks regularly on various construction law topics to industry professionals, the University of Toronto (Construction Law), Osgoode Hall (Real Property LL.M), George Brown College (Construction), REALPAC, the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates' Society, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the Ontario Association of Architects. Andrea also co-founded the Construction Law course at Queen's University.
Andrea completed her LEED certification in 2009, and is a LEED Accredited Professional. She also is the current Public Affairs Liaison for the OBA, Construction and Infrastructure Law Section Executive.
