What are we looking for?

We are looking to hire a BIM / Digital Specialist with a passion for technology to join our studio. This is a unique role within our Digital Practice Department (DPD). This role responds to the digital disruption that is accelerating in the A/E/C industry and recognizes that the success of BIM is dependent on the ability to respond and adapt to the ever-changing technological landscape. Our DPD team is comprised of nine full-time staff, led by our Chief Technology Officer. The team is dedicated to leveraging innovations into project workflows and our studio. If you are passionate for a role that explores methods to digitize the practice of architecture and design, we want to talk.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Creation and management of project instances within cloud-hosted solutions like BIM 360;
  • Creation of content within Revit for use the architectural modelers throughout the studio;
  • Support our laser scanning projects by conducting on-site laser scans or in-office processing;
  • Provide technical support for our studio members;
  • Participate in the exploration, implementation and utilization of new technologies throughout the studio;
  • Provide support for technology within the office coordinating with our Studio Experience Director and Information Technology team.

Profile of the ideal candidate:

You have:

  • A degree/diploma from an accredited institution in Architecture and/or BIM Management;
  • At least 1 year experience working for an Architectural design company;
  • Keen attention to detail and a passion for design and technology;

You are:

  • Experienced with Revit and the BIM process;
  • Familiar with project BIM collaboration methodologies, specifically cloud-hosted solutions (like BIM 360);
  • Familiar with Naisworks (for clash detection), Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint), or other related software would be beneficial;
  • Able to work with Revit to generate content for models;
  • Able to work with laser scanning technologies to support existing conditions capture projects;
  • A skilled communicator, especially around demonstrating the possibilities of technology to clients, and internal stakeholders;
